Visiting Liverpool on Thursday 1st December 2011, Her Majesty The Queen and HRH The Duke of Edinburgh were guests of honour at the unveiling of the anniversary plaque commemorating 100 years of the Royal Liver Building being a feature of the Liverpool skyline.

After being received in the marble-clad Vestibule the Queen and Duke of Edinburgh were escorted to the 9th floor wood-panelled Board Room where they met with former Chairmen and other Board Members of both Royal Liver and Royal London. The Royal Couple admired the view over the Mersey to the Welsh hills and heard a brief history of the Society and the Building before leaving their signatures in the visitors’ book.
